Whispy Woods Description:

This is a stage set in Kirby's universe. You may recognize the tree as the first boss of the first world in the NES hit, Kirby's Adventure. There isn't much to explain about for this stage. Wooden platforms are both above the tree's leaves and also as a ground. There is also a trench to the left that can be used as shelter from enemy fire.

Bullet Bill Hazards:

Watch out for two hazards in this stage. Occasionally, the tree will start blowing, pushing your character back. Run for your life, don't let a stationary tree beat you! Also, watch out for falling apples. In the final version, you'll be able to pick those up. Some will act as recovery items, and others can be tossed as physical items.

Design:

This design was rather simple, and the execution wasn't as long of a process as the others, but I believe it works really well. One thing I knew that I needed was the tree. Actually, Whispy Woods IS the name of the tree. It's a theme found in the N64 version of the stage, as well as the revised version in Melee. I can remember when I made it to that boss stage in Kirby's Adventure. As soon as you enter the level you are way up in the treetops on wooden platforms and you must drop down to the earth to face your opponent. I liked the idea of the characters fighting in the tree tops. That's the reason I put some platforms up there. I was able to visualize how I wanted this stage in my mind perfectly before I put it together.
